Microstructure Testing

Examining the microstructure of steel bars can tell a skilled technician a lot about the quality of the millwork or other pre-machining processes that formed the sample.  To prepare a sample for inspection a thin slice of the original sample is removed, mounted and polished for inspection. Titan metallurgists will then Look through either a 40x binocular or 1000x microscope in order to spot small fractures, voids, impurities and other imperfections that impair the performance of a bar.
